The release of Monicas newest CD, The Makings of Me, (J Records) hit stores on Oct. 3rd, the R&B star celebrating over a decade in the music business in the same day. Monica got personal with her latest soul/R&B album as it was made up until a week before the birth of her son, Rodney. The Makings of Me is hers album No. 4 the follow-up of 2003s After the Storm and its a classic Monica album with ballads and mid-tempo offerings. Among to songs on the album are Everytime Tha Beat Drop Feat. Dem Franchize Boyz, A Dozen Roses (You Remind Me), Sideline Ho and Getaway.
The Makings of Me. Its basically saying, its a testament to the fact that this is a musical diary. Its just simply about the last decade of my life. We talk about a lot of different things on the album as far as things that Ive been through; different situations. And we just take a walk through the last 10 years of my life up until this point.
