The celebrity fashion icon told reporters he knows why Becks signed a five-year, $250M deal with the Los Angeles Galaxy (which apparently exists). In addition to the obvious monetary reasons, David’s contract was appealing because Hollywood is a stone’s throw away.

“If reports (that the deal is worth $250 million) are true, then he’s done the right thing. I think he wants to be an actor, not a footballer,” Armani told the press at Milan’s fashion shows on Monday.

“He is a very handsome man, and his football career could be nearing an end,” Armani said. “Also look at his wife. … I saw her at the wedding [of mutual friends TomKat], and she is a very bubbly lady.”

“They both love Los Angeles,” a friend says. “It will be good for the Beckhams’ careers, they adore the lifestyle, the weather and it would be brilliant for their boys.”

According to the news, footballer ace David Beckham has been dropped as the face of Police sunglasses and is to be replaced by the sexy actor Antonio Banderas. Although the Hollywood Celebrity Antonio Banderas is more than a perfect choise, I find it hard to believe that the sunglasses company gave up on David, as though he stooped to be the England captain after this years World Cup, he is still in the spotlight. Apparently the 1m-a-year contract with Police for the past six years was due to come to an end in September, the footballers own sources say that it was David decision to end the deal as it was prevented him from doing other things as launching his own range of sunglasses.

The decision to go for a more worldwide-appeal personality came in the light of that. Antonio was seen as more of an alpha male. The brand was more keen to have a personality which meant more to US audiences.

This sounds like wishful thinking based on the story that Maddox Jolie-Pitt is attending a David Beckham soccer training school for kids, but it would be cute as hell if it was true. The story is that Brad Pitt asked David Beckham to personally coach five year-old Maddox in soccer:
