Jessica Simpson must not be used to singing to a house full of bigwigs. She choked up during a performance at the Kennedy Center Honors and left the stage abruptly at the end in the middle of her number. She sang Dolly Parton’s “Nine to Five” with Dolly in attendance. Once she came back on afterwards it was clear she had been crying:

Singer-actress Jessica Simpson was in tears last night after flubbing a song she was performing during the Kennedy Center Honors.

Simpson was on stage to sing Nine to Five as part of the tribute to Dolly Parton, one of the evening’s five honorees. Simpson ended her performance abrupty with the words “so nervous” and quickly exited the stage. The stunned audience remained silent, giving her no applause.

Simpson appeared to be crying when she and other singers in the tribute returned to the stage.

CBS will broadcast the show Dec. 26 at 9 p.m.

In addition to Parton, the evening’s other honorees were movie director Steven Spielberg, singer Smokey Robinson, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and conductor Zubin Mehta.

The Pop Celebrity Jessica Simpson has finally revealed something about her divorce. It seems that her marriage with ex-husband Nick Lachey ended when she chose to spend their third wedding anniversary on a charity trip to Africa and he decided to stay at home ( that was when the rumors started ). At that time, in order to promote her charity Operation Smile, Jessica went in in Nairobi, Africa to help children with facial deformities. According to Jessica saying, when she returned home, the ex-Celebrity couple discussed the situation with they realized that everything was over. Jessica and Nick split up in November last year with their divorce finalized in June. In other Celebrity news, Nick Lacheys newest album reportedly sold twice as many copies as Jessica Simpson because of her due to his open sadness.

Jessica Simpson knew her marriage was over on her third wedding anniversary.

The ‘Employee of the Month’ actress says she realised the relationship was doomed when her husband, Nick Lachey, decided not to accompany on her on a charity trip to Africa that coincided with their special day last October (05).

Jessica revealed to Jane magazine: “That trip changed my life. On that day, everything became so clear. I was in hospitals with all these sick kids.

“I just knew I needed to find something more in my life, on my own.

Jessica and Nick separated a month later and divorced in June this year.

Meanwhile, the former 98 Degrees frontman has been making bitchy comments about Jessica during concert performances.

A source said: “After he sang his new single ‘I Can’t Hate You Anymore’ at Atlantic City’s Borgata Hotel, he added in an aside to the audience, ‘Well, maybe just a little’.

According the New York Daily News reports, Nick Lacheys newest album has sold twice as many copies as Jessica Simpsons. The two were husband and wife for three years. Jessica asked the divorce and the ex-celebrity couple had a much-publicized split. That being said when comparing sales of Simpson and Lacheys album sales, he appears to have publicly recovered quickly due to his open sadness while Jessica Simpson chose to offer listeners a quite pop album in the wake of her divorce. Simpsons fourth album has sold a total of 218,972 copies ( while her last album sold 2.9 million copies ) and currently sits at No. 131 on Billboards Top 200 Album list, while Nick Lachey new album has seen 545,345 sales - triple the amount of sales Lachey enjoyed till now.
